School Tours
At Banyan Fields Primary School we are committed to ensuring all students and their families feel welcome and a part of our school community. Prospective families that are interested in enrolling at Banyan Fields Primary School are invited to book a school tour. We understand that this is a very important and exciting decision.
To assist you in making this important and exciting decision, we ask that you book a School Tour. These tours will enable you to see the school at work and to ask questions of the Principal and/or Assistant Principal. Bookings are necessary and can be made calling the School office 9782 1333.

Enrolment Age
All children entering primary school must be five years of age by the 30th April of the starting year. Children who turn 5 after that date begin school the following year.
The Enrolment Application
To enrol your child in a Victorian government school you will need to fill out an enrolment form at that school and provide the school with important information about your child, including:

Evidence of your child’s date of birth (if they were not born in Australia, a passport or travel document such as a visa.

Your contact, phone and address details, and that of any other parent, guardian and/or carer

Names and contact details of emergency contacts

Immunisation Status Certificate
-
Health and welfare information
-
Information about the language/s your child speaks and hears at home

A separate application must be completed for each enrolling child.
Enrolment Process
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.
Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.
Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

Foundation (Prep) Enrolments
The Department of Education (DE) has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.
The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Banyan Fields Primary School.

What you need to do:

Use Find my School to locate your designated neighbourhood school (referred to as your local school) and other nearby government schools.

Contact a government primary school to book a school tour or to learn more about the school and the enrolment application process.

Download the Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents and Carers (available on this website by Tuesday 22 April 2025). This pack will include an application form. The school may also provide you with a copy of the form to complete.

Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 25 July 2025.

You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025.

Take part in information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025.
Enrolment applications submitted after 25 July 2025 will be processed by the school as they are received, in accordance with the Department of Education's Placement Policy.
